Don your leather jacket, corset, and fishnet tights, because on Valentines Day, February 14th, DeLand Pride and the Absent Friends are bringing the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” back to the Athens Theatre after much “antici… pation.”

The evening will consist of a pre-show featuring several DeLand Pride drag performances and the Absent Friends (with emcee Robert Baldwin) with their hysterical Rocky-virgin initiation fun, the ever-popular 1975 20th Century Fox film, live shadow cast (in other words, costumed actors portraying the movie while it is being screened above), dancing, and audience participation (with call backs and prop bags).

Join us for the second of a four part series showing the award-winning Open Dialogues documentary film-shorts series.

The screening with panel discussions will be presented by Stetson’s Center for Community Engagement in collaboration with the Hand Art Center and DeLand Pride beginning at 2 p.m. in the Rinker Auditorium, located in the Lynn Business Center.

This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend but seating is limited.
